U2's fourth album, The Unforgettable Fire, was released in remastered form in 2009 to mark 25 years since the album's original release in October 1984. Recorded at Slane Castle, Ireland, The Unforgettable Fire was the first U2 album to be produced by Brian Eno and Danny Lanois, and spawned two top 10 UK singles - 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)' and 'The Unforgettable Fire'

The Unforgettable Fire was U2's first studio collaboration with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. There were several significant re-issues including one in October 1996 as part of the Island Master series and one as part of the MFSL Ultradisc series in both the 12" vinyl and 5" CD formats with a slightly longer version of 4th Of July. Other unusual releases from around the world included a Mexican release on the Bertelsmann label as part of the Rockollector series. The album was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA with 3 million units sold. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, The Unforgettable Fire reached N. 4 on the album charts and stayed in the charts a total of 3 weeks. It was also selected as Best Album at Ireland's Music Industry Awards and in the Hot Press Reader's Poll, it was voted the No. 1 album by readers.

The Unforgettable Fire is the fourth studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was released on 1 October 1984. The band wanted a different musical direction following the harder-hitting rock of their 1983 album War. They employed Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois to produce and assist in experimenting with a more ambient and abstract sound. The resulting change in direction was at the time the band's most dramatic. Recording began in May 1984 at Slane Castle, where the band lived, wrote, and recorded to find new inspiration. The album was completed in August 1984 at Windmill Lane Studios. 9 The Unforgettable Fire Collection. 1. Bonus CD. Bonus DVD. 11 Charts and certifications.

The Unforgettable Fire was, aptly, the spark that generated a blaze that would have repercussions throughout U2‘s career. The young, religious and rebellious foursome had already conquered Ireland, but it took a production team made up of an Englishman and a French Canadian to guide a decidedly American album into the American consciousness and worldwide fame. For their fourth album, U2 looked to Brian Eno, who had just formed a partnership with Daniel Lanois, for guidance.

The Unforgettable Fire, tour and album is a memorable chapter in the U2 story. The images on this video package chronicle it faithfully. In 2002, U2 fans got a treat with the release of U2 Go Home: Live at Slane Castle on DVD. That DVD featured an added bonus, which was the documentary originally presented in this collection. However, the music videos at the start were not included. Related Promotional Videos.

U2 - The Unforgettable Fire Collection. Jul – Inspi D'ailleurs 2018 (Album complet).

In many ways, U2 took their fondness for sonic bombast as far as it could go on War, so it isn't a complete surprise that they chose to explore the intricacies of the Edge's layered, effects-laden guitar on the follow-up, The Unforgettable Fire. Working with producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, U2 created a dark, near-hallucinatory series of interlocking soundscapes that are occasionally punctuated by recognizable songs and melodies. In such a setting, the band both flourishes and flounders, creating some of their greatest music, as well.
