Jeffrey Scott Buckley (November 17, 1966 – May 29, 1997), raised as Scott Moorhead, was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. After a decade as a session guitarist in Los Angeles, Buckley amassed a following in the early 1990s by playing cover songs at venues in Manhattan's East Village, such as Sin-é, gradually focusing more on his own material

You and I (Jeff Buckley album). You and I is a compilation album by Jeff Buckley, released on March 11, 2016 on Legacy Recordings. The songs were recorded in 1993 and represent some of his earliest recordings for Columbia. The sessions for the album took place in February 1993 and were designed to produce what A&R rep Steve Berkowitz referred to as a "Table of Contents" for the singer.
Jeffrey Scott "Jeff" Buckley (born in Anaheim, California, USA on 17 November 1966 – 29 May 1997), raised as Scotty Moorhead, was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was the son of musicians Tim Buckley and Mary Guibert. He had emerged in New York City's avant-garde club scene in the 1990s as one of the most remarkable musical artists of his generation, acclaimed by audiences, critics, and fellow musicians alike.

Jeff Buckley associates discuss 'You and I,' a newly released collection of the singer's earliest Columbia recordings. Nine songs from those Shelter Island sessions (along with a cover of Bob Dylan’s Just Like a Woman that was recorded later in the year at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, New York) can now be heard for the first time on You and I, Sony’s new collection of previously unreleased Buckley recordings - out March 11th - which was overseen by Guibert. Since Buckley completed only one fully-formed studio album - 1994’s widely acclaimed Grace - before dying during an ill-advised 1997 swim in the Mississippi River, any collection of new material from the singer would be warmly welcomed by his worldwide legion of fans. But You and I offers the additional attraction of an intimate, previously unseen glimpse into a crucial phase of his career.
